When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I don't think it was a conscious realization. I didn't want to do anything else. Once I got past the age where I thought I would be a professional singer, writer was always it for me. It was only a matter of finding a discipline.

What are some of your favorite books?
Books I can quote from: Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Percy Jackson, Six of Crows, and Ascendence
Books I use for comfort: The above, but also Septimus Heap, Splintered, and anything Tera Lynn Childs
Books I'm currently obsessed with: Casters and Crowns, Carry On, and the Folk of the Air

How do you come up with ideas for your books?
Historically, it's been weirdly vivid dreams that transform into something unrecognizable from the original concept. Either that, or a vague comment that I take too seriously.

What is your favorite genre to write in?
I love YA fantasy with far too much science built in, the unfamiliar with a touch of the modern. I also adore science fiction in short stories, and may eventually write a full sci-fi novel. I have plans for middle grade urban fantasy in the future.
